T he Open International University for Complementary Medicines was established as per 1962 World Health Organization Alma Ata Declaration and accorded international recognition to make Alternative Medicine popular and established under the authority of Medicina Alternativa International and recognized by the Authority of His Excellency J. R. Jayewardene, the President of the Democratic Socialist of Sri Lanka by Ref. No. 196/1 of 25th March 1988. Recognized by the United Nations Charter for the University for Peace by U.N. General Assembly Resolution No. 35/55/5/XII/1980.
