This figure shows a comparison between UE-treated RHE (A) and untreated RHE (B) on day 16 (d16).
The treated RHE shows a nice balance between proliferation and differentiation, with a healthy and active epidermis. The untreated RHE shows some disorder in cells and thick keratin.

This figure shows a comparison between UE-treated RHE and untreated RHE on day 18 (d18).
The treated epidermis (A,C) show a nice and active tissue. The morphology is also stable and similar to the morphology on d16.
The untreated epidermis (B,D), however, show more degenerative aging signs (disorder, vacuoles, increased keratin).

This figure shows a comparison between UE-treated RHE and untreated RHE on day 20 (d20).
The treated RHE (A) shows a nice normal morphology (still stable and similar to d16). The untreated RHE (B) shows more aging signs, such as the thinning of epidermal layers, the increase in keratin, condensation in some nuclei and some disorder.

Immunofluorescence studies on RHE tissue sections
(A) and (B) are RHEs stained with antibody to Pan Keratin.
(A) is a treated RHE on d11, (B) is an untreated RHE on d11.
After only one UE transfer, a slight increase in Pan Kerasin was already seen.
(C) and (D) were stained with antibody to Filaggrin.
(C) is a treated RHE on d16, (D) is an untreated RHE on d16.
Filaggrin expression is increased after UE transfers.
